Services & Pricing

You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our doulas free of charge, allowing you to ask questions and determine whether they are a good fit for your needs.

Once hired, your doula will:

• Be a support person, with open ears and heart, through your pregnancy and birthing experience
• Meet with you and your partner for one to two prenatal visits, tailored to your interests and typically covering birth and postpartum planning, comfort measures, emotional grounding, and evidence-based education across all four trimesters
• Offer unlimited phone and email support throughout your pregnancy
• Provide referrals and resources for you and your baby's needs
• Be on-call from week 38 of your pregnancy until your baby is born
• Provide backup doula coverage
• Join your labor when requested and have a continuous presence throughout labor and delivery
• Remain for one to two hours after birth
• Follow up with a postpartum visit within two weeks of birth

These services are provided for all clients and by all doulas. Individual doulas offer additional services independently — please inquire at your interview.

The Philly Doula Co-op believes the postpartum period — the three months after birth — is truly the fourth trimester of pregnancy, and just as crucial to parent and baby as the stages of pregnancy itself. Our postpartum doulas are trained, experienced, liability-insured, and passionate about helping you feel confident and comfortable in this new phase.

Our postpartum doulas can support you with:

• Feeding support
• Sleep support for the whole family
• Diapering and baby-wearing guidance
• Emotional and physical support for the recovering parent
• Baby soothing techniques and baby's first bath
• Accompaniment on first outings
• Light housework, light meal prep, and errands
• Sibling care and support
• Referrals for support groups, lactation consultants, pediatricians, classes, and more

Rates

Our postpartum rates are the same regardless of the doula you choose.

• Daytime: $45/hour (minimum 4 hours)
• Overnight (8 hours): $320 — additional hours billed at $40/hour
• Twin daytime: $50/hour
• Twin overnight (8 hours): $360 — additional hours billed at $45/hour

We request an initial deposit of $640 that can be applied as two overnights, one overnight plus 8 daytime hours, or 16 daytime hours. If additional support is needed after the initial deposit, our basic daytime and overnight rates apply.
